2025 Internship Opportunity

The UT Plateau AgResearch and Education Center in Crossville, Tennessee, offers a 10-week paid summer internship for students enrolled in the 2024-2025 academic year, majoring in plant sciences or a related field. This immersive experience allows students to engage in ongoing research within an outdoor laboratory, applying classroom knowledge to practical, real-world conditions.

Located on 675 acres of diverse research land, the Plateau AgResearch and Education Center provides a unique opportunity to study plant sciences in action. Interns will work alongside experienced researchers to explore topics such as crop production, soil health, horticulture, and sustainable agriculture.

A key feature of the center is the Plateau Discovery Gardens, the newest addition to the UT Gardens network. Originally developed by the Cumberland County Master Gardener Association, this garden now serves as a vital educational and research resource. Interns will have the chance to collaborate with the Garden Coordinator and volunteers to gain insight into plant trials, landscape design, and public education efforts.
